Built in 1904 The Post Office is a literal corner stone of Skibbereen town centre. With its traditional Edwardian red brick it stands out as a proud monument of the time.
The Harp Crest above the front entrance was only erected in the late '30s as the building was erected before the Free-state and so had the Royal Crest of the Royal mail, originally.
